Tumblr is being silly

Okay and so is dreamwidth, it ate my post. D:  Note to self: do not navigate away from this page while you're writing a post it will not save it.

Anyway I'm not even sure why everyone uses tumblr, it's got privacy that's worse than facebook (I mean, facebook will just randomly reshuffle privacy settings and out you accidentally because they're kind of confusing and inconsistant; and also sell your data to advertisers.

Basically Tumblr will do absolutely nothing to stop trolls from harassing you constantly.

So yeah.

I mean i'll probably keep using it because I have two hundred followers there and am involved in a number of community blogs that probably should stay around.  But I mean, there's definitely issues here.

Also Tumblr is down so I'm posting here instead of there because, oh hey I can't post on Tumblr right now.  Argh.

I've wondered about possibly suggesting FYAS be moved onto a different platform, but from what I can figure, it sort of meshes well with the reblog function. ugh if only there were a tumblr-ish thing with actual privacy, and popular

I'm considering quitting the site though. Getting contact information from Arkima and others I don't have it from, and either locking myself out, quitting, or deleting. only other problem is, I like the Doctor Who fandom presence on there (particularly the TPC). and some other things. ah well.

Yeah I don't think the process of leaving tumblr is going to be an overnight thing.

Also I don't think we need to migrate FYAS yet, it's not like it's having serious problems with this stuff yet.

yeah I dunno about how I'm gonna leave Tumblr. (it's such a great resource for Rory/Arthur stuff!! augh! and the Terrible People Club being centered around it. glargh.) but I suppose some things must be done so I guess I'll try to start gathering info. I think there are only a few people I don't have extra contact info for.

I mean, it's your call whether to abandon it. If the Terrible People Club stuff ISN'T stressing you though maybe stay for that and try to keep out of the activism?

I don't know. It obviously can be tricky.
